This is very useful when shooting JPEGs where you have to get it right the first time. I do a quick "Auto adjust Kelvin" in Liveview and then switch back to normal viewfinder shooting and it nails the WB for the rest of the shots. It is only available in Liveview but it makes for perfect WB in difficult Tungsten or Fluorescent lighting. Here is a video I made that shows how the values change as you change focus distance or focal length.Ĥ) One feature I REALLY like is "Auto adjust Kelvin". The values change with any changes to aperture, focus distance or focal length. Here are some of the things I use ML on my 5D3 and SL1:ģ) Focus information display on the rear LCD: Focus Distance, DOF Near, DOF Far, and Hyperfocal Distance. Also the built in intervalometer, for star trails, and bulb timer for 6 & 10 stop filters
Automatic exposure bracketing, if there are too many shadows/hi-lights it takes another bracketed shot, from single to 9 automatically. I also use it in still photography for checking ETTR, different grid displays, and information overlays. I also have used it for taking videos (at a resolution and bit-rate that the stock Canon firmware does not allow).
I use it for LiveView/Focus peaking, since I have a large set of manual lenses and this helps me with critical focus. I use it pretty much every time on my 5DM3. Hi all, I'm aware of all the features and fancy things Magic Lantern can do, but curious in practicality, how it's users are using it.
